The cable car from Bozen

The cable car that links Bolzano with the mountain village of Soprabolzano covers an altitude of more than 1,200 metres and a distance of 4.56 km. Leaving from the cable car's mountain station is the historic train service, inaugurated in 1907, that goes as far as Collalbo passing through Costalovara. The cable car start from Bolzano every 4 minutes. From Oberbozen/Soprabolzano the train or the bus starts every 1/2 an hour to Collalbo.

Note:  In the background of the red cable car you can notice the old railroad embankment of the old cog railway, which reached till 1964 Maria Assunta, place where the aristocrats of Bolzano spend their summer holiday

The cable-car Rittner Horn

A modern cable-car takes you from Pemmern (1.538 m) to the Schwarzseespitze (2.072 m), the starting point for numerous hiking paths and excursions. The highest point of the Rittner plateau is the Rittner Horn (2.270). From the Rittner Horn you have a beautiful panorama, the Ortler-glacier in the west, the Dolomites in the East, the Stubaier Alps and the Zillertaler in the north, as the Presanella, the Adamello and the Dolomites of the Brentagroup in the south.
